I.R.I.
PRAYER SUMMIT – 2nd – 9th April 2006
Gwen,
Beth, Mark and I travelled together from Manchester to Tel Aviv
via Amsterdam on 1st April. It was a long haul leaving home at 11.45am
and arriving at Tel Aviv 2am in the morning !!! Then a 5 hour wait
until 7am ( this was so we would not have to pay for the night at
our accommodation – we were all on a tight budget!!!!). We
spent the time playing I Spy With My Little Eye, Gwen and Beth practicing
their Hebrew and a wonderful time of prayer. It was sooooo good
to be back in The Land. We were amazed to see it was pouring down
with rain. We were staying at Yad Hashmona, a beautiful guest house
and biblical gardens, just outside Jerusalem and we took a cheroot
there. The weather got worse and we went up to Jerusalem in a thick
fog. I felt the Lord saying that we where about to enter His cloud
for the next 8 days.
On
our arrival we crashed out for a few hours then went to register
where we were met by David. We were all given a pen with “Out
Of Zion” on it and a key ring with “Israel” on
it. I felt a prophetic message in these items, we will have spiritual
discernment to note down what the Lord is revealing to us to take
back out of Zion and that the Lord will give us the key to revelation
to keep on the ring of our heart.
There
were fifty people in attendance from Australia, New Zealand, South
Africa, Thai Land, America, Canada, Finland, Germany, UK and Wales.
We
had a wonderful evening meeting our fellow prayer warriors, worship,
sharing and David speaking. We also shared bread and wine. Our worship
leader was a beautiful American lady, Charlene Shoemaker who carried
such an anointing. Word Josie had for the Summit was Awake, Return,
Renew. She had a wonderful banner of the Lion of the Tribe of Judah
and said to look into it during the Summit for words of knowledge.
During the worship I felt led to go to the front and use the large
materials I brought to make a huge tent. Lots of people went under
it and I felt a true presence of the Father pouring out His blessings
on us – halleluyah! A few days later a lovely man from our
party who was a missionary living in Jordan said the Lord impressed
on him a red banner and a blue banner. He picked up a red banner
and waived it over the people but he could not find a blue one until
we went to the front with ours, praise God.
The
weather during the night was at it’s worst, howling gails,
thick fog and rain. In my spirit I could feel the spiritual battle
and this weather was a warning that we were not in the Land for
a gung-ho experience but this was serious stuff. The four days we
spent in Jerusalem were cold and wet.
The
Summit theme song was called “URU – AWAKE” –
Uru
Uru achim uru (x2)
Zeh ha zmarn lehit-arer l’ adonai (x2)
Shema Israel Adonai Adoneinu
Shema Israel Yeshua Meschicheinu
Shema Israel Adonai hu echad
Shema Israel ata lo levad
Awake
Awake brothers awake!
It is time to awaken to the Lord
Hear O Israel the Lord is our God
Hear o Israel Yeshua is our Messiah
Hear oh Israel the Lord is one
Hear O Israel you are not alone.
We sang this song at strategic sights throughout the summit. (in
Hebrew – wow!).
Monday 3.4.06
The morning was a wonderful time of sharing. David shared Romans
11, Ephesians 2, Isaiah 56. When we are born from above we are called
to be a Levitical Priesthood and the church has no destiny apart
from Israel. Prayers from Josie: 2Chron.6:32; 1 Kings 8:38-39; Dan.9:15-19.
David led a time of repentance on behalf of the Jewish people. This
was confirmation from what the Lord had spoken to me through Jeremiah
3: 6-18; 31:31-33 and also Proverbs 31: 10-31. I felt the Lord saying
to Israel, repent, turn back to me for I am your husband. Keith,
a lovely intellectual man from the UK prayed about the lack of men
taking their Godly place. Beth repented on behalf of the women in
the church usurping the men. (This opened up a godly work in the
party throughout the week – simply awesome )
Afternoon spent at Yad va Shem (Holocaust Memorial Musium). Although
this is my third visit to this special place, it never ceases to
move me to the deepest sadness and knowledge of how much the Jewish
people have suffered at the hands of their enemies. As we were making
our way to the entrance we met Lisa from Springs of Hope. It was
so wonderful to have this chance encounter, thank you Lord!
The
evening guest speaker was Bishop Dominica (a woman!). Her message
was very powerful speaking of the shift from the early church up
to 325 when the Ecumenical Council of Nicea was started. The church
has been influenced by this council ever since. We had a time of
repentance for this.
Later Gwen and I shared bread and wine in our room.
Tuesday 4.4.06
Our prayer tour started with a visit to the Upper Room which was
in fact a synagogue and we had a wonderful time of prayer and praise.
In the presence of God it was easy to visualize the coming of the
Holy Spirit into this place. I could of stayed there all morning
just in the presence as the wind of God came upon us. There was
another party present and some of the folk wanted to join us in
our praise time but their guild was not having any of it!!! Our
next visit was to David’s tombe, then onto a water well which
was the only natural supply of water in Jerusalem, amazing. Then
onto the Temple Tunnel which took an hour. It was the most awesome
experience when we went through Mount Moriah. I will never forget
it, to be actually right inside the mountain – wow! Again
there was the presence of God so very tangible. Then onto the “Burnt
House of Kathros” and a very interesting and moving film about
the destruction of this house, family and the temple in 70 a.d.
It makes reading the Word much more real. Next was the Mount of
Olives to pray. The weather was cold and very windy. I could sense
in my spirit all the hoards of hell against the mighty warring angels
of God, just like I experienced two years ago at the western wall
during Sukkot. Then I felt the wind of God as we praised and prayed.
We ended by walking the Via Dolorosa. This was another place full
of Arabs. It is interesting that all of the holy places in the Land
are occupied by Arabs ( I can’t call them Palestinians, they
are Arabs! ). Our coach driver was nick-named Hawkeye as he was
fully trained to spot any likely terror attacks and in fact trained
other drivers/and the forces. Who better to escort us around Jerusalem
– God is good.
The
evening speaker was Arnie Klein from Emayus Ministries. This precious
man of God spoke to me so much through his message. He had a humility
and wisdom that one rarely sees. I know I will listen to the CD
over and over again.
Wednesday 4.4.06
Our
prayer tour started today with a visit to a lovely church at Kirjath
Jearim. This was the place that the Arc of the Covenant stayed for
twenty years, 1Samuel 7. Gwen, Beth and I were very much aware how
the women on this summit did all the praying and sharing the Word
and sensed an inbalance. We went into a time of praise and prayer
and I said to Beth if something does’nt happen to break this
usurping spirit I will have to speak to David. Suddenly Paulette
spoke out about the men being bound and they have to take their
place. The Holy Spirit just came with great power and we all started
travailing before the Lord. Then a man blew the shofar and one of
the men was overcome by the power of God and was out on the floor
for a long time. At that moment something broke in the heavenlies.
I knew that this was a divine appointment for such a time as this,
O halleluyah. Our next stop was to the Knesset where we hoped we
would be able to go in to pray. It was not to be as the person to
make contact with to enable us to enter was not there. However,
we did pray outside by the huge menorah. One of the ladies –
Ann – said the Knesset building was not high like the Palastinian
official buildings are and she felt that like the low building the
Jewish people will be brought low to that place where the Lord can
work through them. Next stop was to Samuel’s Tomb which is
a mosque! We climbed to the top and had an awesome time of prayer.
As I stood on the top I felt that the devil was under our feet.
This was a Palestinian place and I felt a very heavy oppression
there. I picked up a stone which I have kept to pray over. Then
on to Samuel’s mountain and visited Israel and Hannah, two
wonderful messianic Jews. He was prophetic and she was an artist.
There home was a ram shackled place tucked high up on the mountain
with magnificent views. Israel took us to a cave where we all prayed
and he prophesied to us. These precious people lost their twenty
one year old daughter in a suicide bombing, she was beautiful like
her mother and training to be an actress. They are continually being
harassed by the neighbouring Palestinians. Despite this the Lord
is blessing them to overflowing, the produce they grow, the animals,
the provision are all big and more than plentiful. I was delighted
to see a litter of German shepherd pups looking so healthy and happy.
The
speaker for Wednesday was a Messianic Leader named Reuven. He was
very bible based and intellectual with a very good message from
Revelation. It was such a blessing to hear these precious men of
God sharing the message with us.
This was our last night at Yad Hashmona. I loved the stay there.
It really was like being on top of the Holy Mountain in the cloud
as the weather was still very unsettled but wonderful to see so
much greenery and wild flowers which I love. Our rooms reminded
me so much of the ski chalets in France, all pine clad with a wonderful
smell. This place is so peaceful and would be wonderful for a retreat.
Truly a place where the Lord inhabits the praises of His people.
Thursday 6.4.06
We
sadly said goodbye to Jerusalem and expectantly looked towards the
north where we were heading to Haifa. We visited the Tel Aviv University.
Went into the museum where the theme was the Diaspora. It was a
huge place and one could spend a whole day there. There was a plaque
at the entrance which read “ Israel’s past is the gateway
to the future”. We moved on to Caesarea with lots of praise
and prayer. We went to the sea front and called the Jews back from
the four corners of the world. The weather had changed and it was
lovely to feel the sun on our faces. I love this place, again would
be wonderful for quiet times of reflection. Our hotel for the next
four nights was Hotel Gof in Haifa. Gwen and I were on the top floor,
the seventh and we had the most wonderful view of the harbour. It
was easy to visualize all the Jews who have come into this port
to make aliyah. Beth was in the hotel next door but thankfully shared
all meals with us. It was a real blessing to have her with us, I
really feel my spirit in agreement with hers.
The
evening speaker was a lovely lady named Terry Morey from “The
Galilee Experience”. She was not a believer when she made
aliyah in the sixties but God told her to give up everything and
go. It was when she came into the Land that later she became a believer.
This was prophecy being fulfilled in Ez.36:24-28. Her talk and presentation
was excellent which included how to pray Islam out of our nation.
Later David prayed and the Spirit of the Lord came into the room
like a heavy presence.
As
the summit progressed we started to get to know each other and a
spirit of unity was evident. I think Mark at thirty six was the
youngest with the eldest being an eighty two year old lady. Lovely
picture here of a spiritual mum to a young man. I really admired
Mark for coming and do believe the Lord has started a work in him.
Friday 7.4.06
First stop was high up overlooking Haifa harbour. Here we had the
privilege of meeting Pastor Leon from Shavei Tsion Messianic Fellowship
which is a plant from Tents of Mercy. He was a passionate man for
God and spoke a wonderful message to us . We then moved to another
high point to praise and pray. We declared Uru, Uru over Haifa with
the shofars blowing and the banners flying. There was a strong anointing
to pray for the children and Josie shared a dream she had of a huge
tsunami of children but it was stuck. The Lord was telling us to
call the children forth. There was a young Muslim man sitting on
the wall with us all the time we praised and worshipped. When we
finished a few of the men spoke to him and he said he was in training
to be a suicide bomber and did’nt want to do it. He was thinking
of committing suicide. I pray that he will come to know Yeshua and
be cared for by the believers.
We then moved on to the top of Mount Carmel, the place where the
fire of God came down and consumed the sacrifice. We started to
pray and the Spirit of God came down upon the women to repent for
usurping the men. Josie suggested the ladies gather together and
the men to circle us holding hands. It was an awesome time of repentance
and then the men repented for how they have mistreated the women.
Many bondages came flying off people and it was a truly amazing
time with the Lord. It was even more significant as the place we
were standing was where Elijah and Jezebel came face to face in
spiritual warfare. I believe there is a spirit of Jezebel in the
churches and also the secular today. I felt at this moment that
the Lord was saying to me that the line had been drawn, He was giving
me clear understanding and to wait on Him. When we came down from
that mountain I felt such a release in my spirit.
We
all enjoyed a wonderful Shabbat dinner back at the hotel. It was
good to see Josie’s friends with us, friends we have been
praying for via the I.R.I. bulletin.
Our evening speaker was Eiton Shishkoff, the pastor of Tents of
Mercy in Haifa. His message was riveting, absolutely bible based,
wow to have a pastor like that!!!
Saturday 9.4.06
We
all went to the Tents of Mercy Sabbath meeting. O woweeeee. It was
so anointed, the Word, carrying the Torah, the worship (all of it
to the Lord, no me songs), Davidic dance with lots of men up, sharing,
unity. Large congregation with so many young people, lots of Russians.
Wonderful to see them all lost in wonder of the Lord. Two people
from the congregation were prayed over as they were going out on
mission to India and Africa, this was truly prophecy being fulfilled
- “out of Zion”. This was the first Messianic meeting
I have ever been to and I pray will not be the last.
We then went onto Acco for lunch with a view to going on to pray
at the borders later. We sensed a spiritual heaviness about this
place and later learned that it is believed Jezebel came from here!
After lunch we were stuck on the coach as there was a demonstration
going on by the Arabs and we could’t get out of Acco. We never
made the borders and came straight back to the hotel. When I go
back to the Land I determine to pray the borders, taking back what
the enemy stole from us that day.
The coach travel throughout the summit was wonderful as we prayed
together at times with a wonderful sister named Ruth and praised
the Lord in song.
Our speaker for the evening was Lars Enarson, a Swedish man from
Watchman Intnational who now lives in the Land. Wow was he powerful.
He was also slating the church for not observing the feasts and
keeping Easter and Christmas, pagan festivals. He was very strong
and to the point! Just what the churches need to hear!
Sunday 9.4.06
Today
we went to the Sea of Galilee. First we saw a wonderful film about
the history of the Galilee. This place was run by Terry Morey who
came to speak to us last Thursday evening. We then had about ten
minutes to wiz around the gift shop before boarding the boat and
onto the Sea of Galilee. This was a wonderful time of prayer and
praise and dancing. We then had a lovely meal of St. Peter’s
fish. Val one of the ladies dropped her shofar into the Galilee
and Peter one of the men dived in and retrieved it !!!! I really
felt this was prophetic. Earlier we had all been calling out over
the Galilee for Israel to Uru, Uru. The trumpet is being raised
out of the sea, the sea speaking of people waking up. I really believe
that revival is coming to the Galilee. We then went to Capernaum
and had a special time of praise, the word and dancing in the synagogue.
David, a lovely man from America had his guitar and led us in worship.
We then moved on to the shore of Galilee where a few people got
baptized, praised the Lord! It was wonderful to see a twenty one
year old sabra Israeli being baptised. I really enjoyed having a
paddle and thinking of Yeshua and the many times He would have waded
in the Galilee.
The final meeting together was a time of praise and sharing. Josie’s
scripture for us was 1Peter 3:4. During the worship David took down
the banner of the Lion of Judah and waived it over us. When he placed
it back on the wall again is was the other way around. At the start
of the summit and throughout the Lion was facing toward the east
but now he was facing toward the west. I felt that as this banner
was facing one way for seven days and another way on the last night,
the eighth, that this was a picture of what Josie had at the very
start of IRI of gentiles coming into the Land to give, receiving
from the Land and taking it out again to the churches, just like
a river flowing in and flowing out. Also seven days spoke to me
of completion and eighth day as something new.
And this was the fifth Prayer Summit, the number of grace. And the
Lord was gracious to us and did shine His face upon us during eight
wonderful, memorable days in His presence, seeking His face and
praying for the restoration of His chosen people, Israel.
We
departed at 12.30am by way of a cheroot that took us from Haifa
to Tel Aviv Airport in one hour flat!!!!!! There was overtures of
the Passover here – go out in hast!!!! As always I felt a
sadness leaving the Land and also leaving David and Josie who are
such gracious, giving people who made this Prayer Summit so right
and I am sure, pleasing to the Lord. My prayer is that the Lord
will bless them with a double portion for all they have given out
over these eight days.
Next
year in Jerusalem.
